Send a Protected message from the Web Portal

Protected Trust Email Encryption is an email encryption framework that enables organizations to securely communicate electronic data. One method of sending encrypted messages using Protected Trust is to send from our web portal.

  1. Go to https://app.protectedtrust.com/login and sign in with your email address and password.
  2. Click Compose Secure Message or click Compose in the top right corner
  3. Compose your message, attaching any files you need to send
  4. Click Send.
  5. If your recipient has an account with Protected Trust, the message will send.

    If your recipient does NOT have an account with Protected Trust, you will be prompted on how you would like to verify their identity(see Recipient Identity Verification Methods further below)
  6. Once you have chosen your verification method, click Send Now

Recipient Identity Verification Methods

Verification Method

Description

Shared Secret

The recipient is required to answer a question created by the sender.

Phone Verification

The sender enters the recipients phone number. The recipient must receive and verify a code sent to the phone number via SMS or a voice call.

No Verification

The recipient can open the message without additional identity verification. While ‘no verification’ is still encrypted, please ensure that it meets your security requirements.
