Configure Mobile Devices

To setup an Exchange ActiveSync account, your mobile device will need internet access.  This can be done by connecting your mobile device to a wireless network or your carrier’s data network.

IOS Users, Be Aware of the Following

By default, only three days’ worth of email is synchronized. To synchronize more, go into Settings, then Mail, Contacts, Calendars, select your Exchange account, and tap on Mail days to sync.

After configuring an Exchange ActiveSync account, all existing contact and calendar information on the iOS device is overwritten. Additionally, iTunes no longer syncs contacts and calendars with your desktop computer. You can still sync your iOS device wirelessly with MobileMe services.

If at any point you see a “What would you like to do with the previously synced iCloud contacts on your iPhone” message on your phone, click Keep on My iPhone. If you click Delete from My iPhone, you will lose any subject data that is not stored in either iCloud or on our Exchange server.

  3. Choose which type or types of data you would like to synchronize: MailContacts, and Calendars.
  4. Tap Done
  5. Remove any legacy Accounts from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars by selecting them and clicking “Delete” button at the bottom of the Account page.

Setup Exchange on your Windows Phone or Android device

Before we begin it is important to keep in mind that email configuration varies depending on, make, model, and carrier. Unlike iOS devices, you cannot make these changes before your network administrator has made the necessary Autodiscover (DNS) changes.

To configure your Windows Phone or Android device, remove the legacy Exchange account and add a new Exchange account.
